to never buy a car with an infotainment system, if I could help it.
That is all.
Who is with me? Knobs and buttons forever!

think about getting parts for them in 30 years.

I’ve softened my stance a bit...I only say “never” for cars where the HVAC is controlled by a touchscreen. Ever since we got a car with radio controls on a touchscreen, I’ve found myself using the steering wheel controls (BUTTONS!) much more than I ever had before.

Me too, for as long as I can help it. I just don’t need all that. Simpler is better, for me anyway.

Knobs and buttons are the way to go. That tactile feel of manually controlling your cabin creature comforts..

Agreed.
Almost all the features (I say almost because WHAT IF THERE IS SOMETHING I NEED ON AN INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM..gotta leave that wiggle woorm) is on my phone anyway!

I’m with you! So much that I bought a car with toggle switches and two methods of starting it, hand crank and one of these new fangled “starter motors”.

20 year old knob design > 20 year old electronics

Dat tactile feel.

I’m with you! have an 2011 camry (no infotainment) and an 07 Accord with the same. Buttons rule!

Totally agree

I’m with you.
And I’ll keep my physical key as long as I can too.

With you 100%...even my windows are manual in my current vehicle

We I was in the market for a new Fit for my wife, we tried to get a base model specifically to avoid the touch screen BS. Unfortunately there was exactly one 6-speed manual one left in the area and it was a mid-range with the touch screen. Oh well, I’d rather have the screen than a god awful CVT.

I feel the same way.
Give me bluetooth, aux, and USB, and that’s really all I need.

Same here. I have an infotainment system. It’s called a phone. Everything else I want to control with buttons and switches.

Agree completely, base model radios age MUCH more gracefully as well. Find me an infotainment system more that 5 years old that does not feel painfully outdated to use.

Agreed.

Keepin’ it real. Keepin’ it low-tech.

agreed.

A painful choice, but the right one. Well done.

I'm with you. But then again, technology is allergic to me.

Yea, they’re dumb. I can’t say that I have ever used one and thought “this does things better than my phone”.
I’m just glad I can tuck mine into the dash.

I have daily drive a 20 year old SUV for long enough, knobs suck and fall off. I welcome the infotainment overlords.

You might have to spend $27.00, but you might be able to replace the knob. I know I had to in my 23 year old vehicle.

I could, but there are many other things needing replaced.
